Synergy With Mission Bhagiratha

Joint trenching works for Mission Bhagiratha water pipelines and T-Fiber optical fiber cable

Mission Bhagiratha, the prestigious project being undertaken by the Rural Water Supply & Sanitation (RWS&S) department, Govt. of Telangana, aims at providing clean drinking water to every household in the state of Telangana. For this purpose, Mission Bhagiratha is undertaking trenching and digging activity across the state for laying water pipelines.

T-Fiber is utilizing this opportunity to minimize its project cost by carrying out the underground duct and fiber laying along with the laying of the water grid in Telangana. In other words, T-Fiber piggy-backs on the Mission Bhagiratha project, which provides safe drinking water to every household through water pipelines, thereby achieving Right of Way (ROW) and saving on digging and trenching costs for laying optical fiber cable across the whole state.

Shared Infrastructure, Shared Savings

The network is deployed along water supply routes that have already been mapped for the entire state. By leveraging the trenches dug for RWS&S, the state combines the utilization of the same trench for two utilities — drinking water and high-speed broadband — right up to every household in rural Telangana. This saves on duplication of work and on enormous additional trenching cost.

Right of Way, Already Secured

RWS&S has already obtained all the necessary permissions, including Right of Way (ROW), for laying water pipelines across the State of Telangana. Therefore, no additional permissions or cost for acquiring ROW is incurred for laying the OFC — a direct, quantifiable saving that accelerates rollout across every district.

Two Utilities, One Mission

Drinking water and high-speed broadband are both fundamental to quality of life — and Telangana is delivering them together. Every kilometre of trench dug for Mission Bhagiratha becomes an opportunity for T-Fiber to extend its reach, meaning the same civil works that bring safe drinking water to a household can, in parallel, bring it dependable, affordable connectivity.
